Who We Are

We are everyday people from different walks of life coming together to confront racist dialogue and action in the state of Tennessee. We want Tennesseans to come together and tell white supremacists and all other racist groups that their ideas of racial superiority have no place in contemporary society; are not based in accepted science; and are not welcome in our state. We think racism is a community issue and anti-racism a community responsibility.

A banner made by children staying in a homeless shelter in Nashville, TN, sends the right message.

We believe in the art of peaceful protest. Instead of fighting hate with hate, we focus on finding creative and positive ways to combat the racist, homophobic, and misogynistic messages presented to us by bigoted groups and individuals. We use anti racist bystander intervention as a model for our actions.

Tennessee is our home and we want to make it clear that we do not support or endorse racist or other hate speech. We also believe that silence is consent. Allowing hate speech to go unopposed in our communities creates the illusion that the community doesn't mind the hate speech (and maybe even agrees). History is littered with horrifying examples of good people ignoring bigots until it's too late. Ignore racism...and it won't go away.

Join us as we build a strong grassroots anti-racist network in Tennessee!
